$20 Million Dollar Lawsuit Filed Following Post-Prom Party Sexual Assault & Rape

Terry D. Jackson, P.C. recently filed a $20 million dollar lawsuit arising out of a brutal sexual assault on a young woman following her high school prom at a North Georgia resort home. The former Calhoun High School student, who was 18 at the time of the rape, said that alcohol and date rape drugs were involved in three former students raping her as another watched. The lawsuit names the three attackers, the onlooker, parents, and the Coosawattee River Resort in Gilmer County as responsible for the attack.

The victim is now undergoing counseling to deal with the aftermath of this terrifying experience and is seeking justice. “I don’t know that you ever get over such a thing as this,” said Mr. Jackson of his client. “We hope to get our client in the civil justice system, where there has been none to date in a two year wait in the criminal system. Justice begins at trial for this case.”

Date rape, drug, and alcohol-facilitated sexual assaults are on the rise. This story, featured on AJC.com, is one of many on this case since its filing.
